So here are some concepts that I want to utilize for the advertising posters. I'm particularly interested in using minimalist graphic design, especially for this play. I'm also particularly interested in using a very limited pallet of colors. Similar to how the audition poster was only black and white with a small amount of red for the smile on the pillow. Here are some images with those thoughts in mind.
Jeremy, these are great, I really like the idea of simplicity - these images in particular are very jarring and eye-catching. Perhaps next steps would be to look at the colors/textures that other designers are working with (Skye and Janae especially) and see if that pallette could be adapted within this idea (I bet it can). My dream would be that the posters would reflect the aesthetic of the show. From everyone's posts it seems this is a possibility. Gracias, son.

ReplyDeleteJeremy, If you're interested in simplicity and minimalist work's you should check out this site, http://www.listal.com/list/minimalist-posters , your post really reminded me of a lot of the work on it and I think that it might help inspire something, who knows...
ReplyDeleteI specifically suggest looking at the posters up on that site for the shining as well as corpse bride, v for vendetta, lord of the rings and shaun of the dead, i found them to be some of the most applicable to the pillowman.
